Taken with a 100mm macro lens so i was pretty close. Fortunately he didn't move!
Extremely rare gecko, Naultinus elegans punctatus, found only in a tiny range of New Zealand. This information is thanks to  Comments Featured on my journal!

must of been hard to get a shot of him, most of the times i cant keep lizards still in front of the camera from 10 feet to get a picture of them...let alone with a macro lens. Thanks. But I'll tell you a little secret....
Shhhhhhhh .... but it was 'shot through glass' lol These little creatures are extremely rare. So rare that you won't find them in the bush. Department of Conservation has one glass case of them in te Waitakeres to teach the kids about them. There's a nice warm lamp in there and they sit still under that!! However, that was the very very first shot I did with my brand new 100mm macro lens! Cheers Robyn -- [link] nothing wrong with that, its a fantastic picture
